Towns by the Liim Fiord

Near the Liim Fiord and east of Lemvig, Nørre Nissum is situated. This small town is remarkable
for its number of schools – a teacher training college, two boarding schools and a
so-called Folk High School , among others.
In the park surrounding the teacher training college can be seen a series of sculptures by
Ejgil Westergaard, Erik Heide and Laila Westergaard, among others.

East of Lemvig and north of Gudum, Råbjerg lies. The top of Råbjerg, which is one of the
highest vantage points in the area, commands a magnificent view of the Liim Fiord to Thy
and Salling, two regions to the north and north-east. Along the Liim Fiord are found similar
high vantage points with steep slopes that are more than 160 feet high.

East of Nørre Nissum, Remmerstrand stands on the coast line of the Fiord. The village
numbers 32 households and an attractive little boat harbour. If you want to go fishing
off the coast, Remmerstrand is a good place to choose. Along the coast of the Liim Fiord there
are also several popular surf spots.

If you continue along the road to Humlum, you will meet Aa-Mølle, a rare culture-historical
gem.
Aa-Mølle
is about 500 years old and the only mill in Northern Europe containing a water wheel
of a particular kind of Roman construction. In 1999, restoration work was finished, and the mill
was restarted.

Midway between Lemvig and Struer you will find Gudum. In the Middle Ages, Gudum was a
spiritual centre as well as a centre of traffic.
Today the village is known for its Folk High School , which offers courses in psychology,
nutrition and physical exercise.
