History and Structure
Lemvig-Thyborøn Tourist Association was founded in spring 2007.
The founding of the new association was a completely natural consequence of the Local Government Reform of 2007, which caused the two municipalities of Thyborøn and Lemvig to be merged into one.

The new entity is called the Municipality of Lemvig (in Danish: Lemvig Kommune).
Before 2007, the two previous associations – the Tourist Association of Lemvig and Surrounding Areas and Thyborøn – Harboøre Tourist and Trade Council – were in close co-operation about tourism in the area, so it was only natural for the two associations to merge.
