In the wetlands of Nissum Fiord and the Isthmus of Harboøre there are ample opportunities to study the exciting bird life, and during the migratory season, enormous flocks of birds can be seen here. Especially the Autumn migration is impressive because of the number of different species to be seen.

You can also take an observation ride with Naturbussen, the Nature Bus and learn about the wading birds staying at the Western Jutland Fiords during the migratory season – especially the thousands of geese. Get more information at the Tourist office.

From the observation tower in Klosterheden, the large plantation south-east of Lemvig, you can watch wild life in and around the Ællebæk Lakes. From the tower it is possible to watch both the lake and the adjoining heath. Besides lots of bird species, you can also observe red deer , otters and beavers from the tower.
