Fish auctions – experience the good old-fashioned fish auction. At the Fish Auction Centre at Thyborøn Harbour , you can buy fresh fish for your dinner table every Wednesday in July and August from 11 to 12 a .m. . In Thyborøn, fish are normally sold via the internet, but the old method is revived to give you a unique opportunity to witness the auctioneer swinging fish, figures and money.
Fish Day in Thyborøn – in august there are lots of activities and entertainment in the town, at the harbour and at Thyborøn Fish Auction Centre. Among other things, you can experience the very lively fish auctions, let your children try a bobsleigh run (sized for children), or an obstacle court, take a boat trip from the harbour, and hear the local folk group “Tørfisk” give it all they’ve got on the stage. Lots of special fish courses are served. In 2012 the Fish Day is on the 4th of August.
Open Doors. The last weekend of August, a lot of local artists open up their exciting and colourful studios, workshops and shops. You can visit them and see the many different works of art from various genres, such as glass, pottery, stone sculptures, paintings, jewellery, icons and many others. From mid-August, a programme containing all the addresses of the artists is available at the tourist office. Saterday and sunday the 25. - 26. August 2012.
Haze over Haarum . Every year at the beginning of June, a three-day music festival is held just outside Harboøre. Danish as well as foreign bands perform.
Lemvig Market and Cattle Show – Every year at the beginning of June, at Rom Airfield just outside Lemvig, there are lots of animals, machines, trade exhibitions, new cars, vendors’ stalls, workshops, activities organized by various organizations and entertainment. The event lasts two days.
The Biannual party in the sports hall in Thyborøn. Every other year a big party is held in the sports hall in Thyborøn. Local bands perform.
The Liim Fiord Cup – basket ball – An international tournament for young people every year at the end of December.
